In the wake of the 1906 earthquake, establishing of a permanent orchestra was high on San Francisco's civic agenda, and in December 1911 the San Francisco Symphony gave its first concerts. Almost immediately, the Symphony revitalized the city's cultural life with programs that offered a kaleidoscope of classics and new music. After years of dreaming of a world-class music learning resource for children, families, and schools, the San Francisco Symphony retained 415 to transform dream into reality. Selecting 415 to spearhead the San Francisco Symphony Kids Web site was a natural choice since 415 has been the Symphony's online partner for nearly three years, and created the award-winning redesign of the San Francisco Symphony's main site. The primary goal of SFSKids.com was simple: teach kids about music in a fun and engaging way. Once 415 understood how its target audience -- children ages eight to 12 and their families -- wanted to learn about music online, they created a site that enthralls kids from the first glance and keeps them exploring through interactive tools that bring the music to life.
