Extranet When Credit Suisse began working with 415, they used
outmoded, paper-based client reporting mechanisms. For both Credit Suisse
Asset Management and Warburg Pincus, 415 developed plans to use the
Internet to deliver portfolio information to clients. Today, these
extranets form the reporting backbone for CSAM's institutional and high
net worth clients, delivering holdings, transactions, gain/loss, sector
exposure, performance, and other critical portfolio information on a daily
basis.
-- Researched financial institutions and the overall market to
determine trends in extranet development and the needs of target audiences
-- Worked closely with several Credit Suisse IT groups to develop
a common language for data transport -- Commenced extraction of
data from legacy systems -- Developed customized administrative
tools
Business Process Re-engineering As Credit Suisse migrated
critical business components to the Internet, they understood that
internal processes would require change. Portfolio Managers, Client
Services Officers (CSOs), Marketing Vice Presidents and Managing Directors
needed to alter the way they delivered content and performed their
jobs.
-- Designed Web-based tool that enables CSAM CSOs to review and
administer client portfolios before they go live -- Worked with
the Warburg Pincus Portfolio Managers to allow them to create extranet
accounts directly from their desktops -- Built systems that let
Help Desk personnel modify account information and re-issue passwords
Translation and Localization CSAM asked 415 to accommodate a
French and German version of CSAM.com. Rather than integrate potentially
unwieldy and expensive third-party software, 415 devised a solution that
enabled personnel from around the world to publish content in three
languages simultaneously. 415 also worked with CSAM Japan to develop a
Japanese version of the site.
-- Partnered with Credit Suisse's corporate translation group in
Zurich to create an equitable, low-cost translation process
-- Collaborated with the Credit Suisse marketing group in Japan to
develop content appropriate for localized target audiences
-- Provided production environment, human resources, and hosting
facilities that completed the localization effort (CSAM Japan performed
the translation)
Application Design Over a period of 2 years, a simple HTML
site evolved into a series of applications that quickly became entrenched
in the Credit Suisse enterprise. Given a series of corporate mandates for
security, software usage, and hosting requirements, 415 used the extranets
as a foundation and worked closely with internal resources to develop best
practices for:
-- Administration -- Account generation -- Data
migration -- Data validation -- Site maintenance
Branding While the Credit Suisse brand is recognized around
the world, it had many different forms when it made the initial transition
to the online world.
-- Worked to develop a new online identity for www.CSAM.com, which
eventually became the base design for CSAM's global standardization effort
-- Extended a design standard to all Credit Suisse extranets and
corporate sites
