Results

Results have been fantastic. Back-end improvements have enhanced internal efficiency, supporting a marked increase in online handling of job applications and user correspondence. BART.gov has become one of the most technologically advanced public transit sites in the country and is now considered in the same class as many privately-owned travel sites. Plans for future enhancements ensure this site will remain a standard to which other public transit agencies' efforts are compared. While public transportation often inspires passionate reactions, they are not often positive. BART.gov is different. From the industry to passengers, feedback has been overwhelming.

-- Since BART.gov launched in April 2001, BART has enjoyed an astounding 60% drop in user email and help desk calls
-- The site receives 20 million hits each month, yet questions that begin with "How do I" and "Where can I find?" have almost vanished
-- Named Best Public Transportation site in the country by the American Public Transportation Association, 2001
-- Received a Standard of Excellence WebAward, 2001
-- "I love the new website! Loads quicker and has a much cleaner look. Very easy to use and I like the schedule lookup on the default page. Great job!"
-- "I just wanted to say that your new website is absolutely awesome. It makes it so much easier to search for times and schedules! I am so glad you guys made the change and added more useful information, convenient links, and the overall look of the site is great!"
